About
It all started when…
Kingsmuir and Sorbie Farm has been farmed by the Smith family for over 100 years.
The airfield was the vision of Maureen Smith BEM who, after obtaining her private pilots licence wished to fly from her job at the Met Office in the South of England back to the family farm. The first landing at Kingsmuir Airfield was by local pilot, Jim Allan at 16:20hrs on 16th July 1994.
A Clubhouse was subsequently created by renovating a cottage situated to the side of the airstrip.
The Smith family welcome pilots into this special Fife airfield.
